Water distribution

Most residential areas receive water from a municipal water provider while many areas use groundwater sources surface water including reservoirs and rivers – which makes up the bulk of municipal supplies.

Once the water is pumped to the water treatment facility, to undergo a process to improve its quality. it is distributed via a network of pipe material including PVC, ductile iron or PE to pressure tanks located at high points throughout the distribution area. The height of these tanks relative to the distribution area - along with the weight of the water - is what generates pressure. The higher the tank, the greater the pressure and in hilly or mountain ridden areas the water distribution network is divided into pressure zones which are separated by means of pressure reducing stations, gate valves and check valves.

For water distribution, AVK offers couplings for pipe material, gate valves, butterfly valves and check valves.
